Behaviour Specialist Consultations

Fabic Behaviour Specialist Consultations

Our behaviour specialist consultations are available to people of all ages with any challenges! The only criterion is that you are using a behaviour you would prefer not to be using… now that’s all of us!

We offer specialised clinical services for clients that aim to identify the source behind their unwanted behaviours and support them to take responsibility for building ways to truly enjoy their everyday life. We work with those with low intensity unwanted behaviours through to extreme high intensity behaviours.

All behaviour specialist consultations can be offered:

  • Face-to-face at Fabic on the Gold Coast Australia
  • Skype video conferencing from anywhere in the world
  • Phone from anywhere in Australia
  • On-site wherever you are. Travel fees apply.

Fabic services are based on the following formula:

  • We understand that no matter what the behaviour looks like, you must first connect and meet the person for who they are. At the heart of each person is an awesome, amazing, loveable being … this must always be remembered. It is the reality that our behaviours may not always be as equally awesome and thus many people require support to change their unwanted behaviour
  • We understand that all behaviour happens for a reason and we support the person to identify the root cause of their behaviour
  • We understand that desired behaviour needs to be taught and not expected. It is unfair to expect that each person knows how to respond to every event in life… when we don’t have the skills to responds to the challenging situations that we face in life we will all use some form of unwanted behaviours. Teaching new appropriate behaviours to replace the old unwanted behaviours is essential to any person’s behaviour change.
  • The behaviours we teach must be based on supporting the person to develop the skills for themselves and not become reliant on another. Our goal is to support the person to become as independent as they are capable of becoming. The degree of independence achieved will vary depending on each individual’s natural skills and willingness to apply strategies learnt at Fabic to everyday life.

Our clinical services provide support for:

  • Children, adolescents & adults who are using behaviours that are having a negative impact on themselves and those around them … we have all used unwanted behaviours at some stage!

On-site Consultations Options

Fabic come to wherever you are when the behaviour is occuring - in home, schools, workplaces or the community. Options include:

Observations

Observing the person using the challenging behaviours in their home, school, workplace or any environment where the unwanted behaviour occurs allows us to gain an understanding as to why the unwanted behaviours are occurring. The understanding is crucial when developing effective behaviour change strategies.

Implementing Behaviour Change Strategies

To successfully implement the behaviour change strategies into the location where we would like the wanted behaviours to occur, we need to be taught how. When these strategies are demonstrated by a Fabic staff member in the home, school, work or other environment, you, your family and your colleagues will feel more equipped in supporting the long term behaviour change.

Staff training for individual clients or staff

Schools, residential facilities, workplaces, employment services
