About this episode
Perfection is a world-wide epidemic, contributing to an endless supply of anxiety and thus array of unwanted and ill behaviour patterns.
Have you ever felt anxious when you:
- Received a correction
- Got something wrong
- Felt like someone doesn’t like you
- Did not come first
- Got your work wrong
- Received a correction
- Did not meet your projected picture of how you should be
- Lost a game
- Been met with a ‘no’
- Got a mark on your clothes
- Got lower outcomes then what you wanted or expected (exams, work performance, etc.)
Or have you ever been in a position where you have chosen not to give life a go, just in case you wouldn’t do it perfectly … in other words, have chosen failure?
Or have you ever had any of these instances play out with another person?
The list of examples is endless, but they all fall under the banner of what we call ‘perfectionism’ at Fabic … all fuelled by the desire to be accepted, fit in and ultimately attempting to avoid feelings of rejection.
This episode ‘Perfection – a Hidden Epidemic Impacting Our Quality of Life’ supports all to become aware of and develop understanding of how perfectionism significantly reduces our quality of life and those we share our lives with.
