Can I obtain funding to use Fabic services?
There are several options for gaining support with funding for Fabic’s services. Funding is the responsibility of our clients to source for themselves. Below we have provided a list of funding bodies and organisations that you may be eligible for. The result of your funding application will be based on you meeting the criteria as established by the specific funding organisations and is independent of Fabic.
Medicare
Medicare rebates are available for Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Psychology clinical services. You will require a Chronic Disease Management Plan referral for any of these services or a Better Access to Mental Healthcare Plan referral for Psychology and Occupational Therapy. Referrals will need to be obtained from your GP to access these rebates. Please note due to Tanya Curtis’ unique qualifications, her services are not eligible for rebates.
ATAPS (Gold Coast Primary Health Network)
ATAPS is a Commonwealth-funded program for the provision of short-term, evidence-based psychological services for people with mental disorders.
Funding is available through the Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) for individuals requiring primary mental health care who are not able to afford Medicare-subsidised mental health services.
You will need to specifically request an ATAPS Mental Healthcare Plan referral from your GP which will then need to be approved by ATAPS in order to access a certain number of funded appointments. You will need to meet the criteria to obtain this referral.
Eligible clients can receive up to 12 free individual counselling sessions at Fabic’s consulting rooms. Initially an individual can access up to six sessions with an ATAPS referral and a further six sessions if recommended after review by the referring General Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.
Eligibility and exclusion criteria apply. For further information, please click here.
Private Health
If you have Private Health and are seeking Fabic's Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and/or Psychology services, it is your responsibility to check what rebates are offered through your health fund. You will also need to check how much your health fund will pay towards your appointments as Fabic staff will not be able to advise you of an exact price due to the varying health funds and your specific health fund benefits.
Helping Children with Autism Early Intervention Package (HCWA)
The Helping Children with Autism Package allows for those who have the required documentation from their local autism advisor to access Fabic’s clinical and training services up until the child’s 7th birthday (subject to eligibility).
