I am a Senior Occupational Therapist with over 11 years of experience, including the past 4 years working within the NDIS in Australia. I have worked across a wide range of clinical settings and bring a strong mix of paediatric, neurological and physical rehabilitation experience to my role at FABIC.
I feel especially passionate about working with children, particularly younger children, and supporting them to build the skills, confidence and independence they need in everyday life. Much of my current work is with children under 18, including those with autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, developmental delay, sensory needs, and other neurodivergent presentations.
What I love most about Occupational Therapy is that it allows me to be creative, practical and truly client-centred. My sessions are designed to feel engaging, fun and purposeful. Often, from the outside, it may look like play, but I strongly believe that play is one of the most powerful ways children learn, develop new skills, and build confidence. I use a strengths-based approach, focusing on what a child can do and building from there in a way that feels meaningful for them and their family.
At FABIC, I complete functional capacity assessments and develop individualised therapy plans tailored to each client’s goals, needs and daily life. I support participants to improve areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, concentration, emotional regulation, daily functioning, and independence. I also use sensory-informed approaches where appropriate to help children feel more regulated, capable and supported.
Alongside my paediatric work, I also bring a strong clinical background in physical disability and rehabilitation, including hand therapy, cerebral palsy, neurological rehabilitation and neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. This broad background helps me bring a holistic lens to my work and understand how physical, cognitive and emotional factors can all affect a person’s ability to function well in daily life.
One of my biggest priorities is building strong communication with the people around each client. I value being reliable, responsive and collaborative, and I work closely with families, caregivers, support coordinators and multidisciplinary teams to make sure support feels joined-up, practical and aligned with the person’s goals.
I also speak Persian, Farsi and English, which allows me to support a wider range of families and communicate in a way that feels more comfortable and culturally familiar where needed.
For me, this work is about making a real difference not only in a client’s life, but in the life of the whole family. I care deeply about helping people feel more capable, more supported and more hopeful, and I feel most fulfilled when I can see that the guidance, therapy and support I provide is creating meaningful change.
