About

I have spent more than 20 years working alongside children, young people and families across a wide range of roles, including social work, youth work, teaching and counselling. Throughout all of that experience, one thing has stayed consistent: I have always been drawn to supporting young people to feel safer, more understood, and more capable of responding to life in a different way.

My path into this work began early. I always knew I wanted to work with children, and over the years that has taken me through primary schools, alternative education settings, youth services, counselling, case management and leadership roles in community services. I have worked with young people across many stages of life, from early childhood through to young adulthood, and I have supported individuals and families facing anxiety, emotional distress, school disengagement, complex behaviours and significant life challenges.

What I love about FABIC is that it reflects something I have believed for a long time: behaviour is something a person does, not who they are. I do not see people as labels to manage or problems to fix. I see amazing human beings who may be hurting, overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck in patterns that are not serving them. For me, meaningful support starts with separating the behaviour from the person, understanding what is really going on underneath, and helping both the individual and the people around them respond in a more helpful way.

I am especially passionate about working with children, adolescents and families. Much of my experience has been with young people who have not fit neatly into traditional systems, those experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, school refusal, disconnection, family stress, or more complex behavioural challenges. I have worked in both one-on-one and group settings, and I bring a calm, steady presence even in situations that can feel intense or overwhelming.

One of my greatest strengths is being able to stay grounded and see the bigger picture. I do not rush to judge, and I do not reduce people to a diagnosis or a moment in time. I understand that behaviour happens within relationships, families and systems, which means lasting change often comes from supporting not just the individual, but the whole team around them. I care deeply about helping parents, carers and support teams feel more confident, more equipped and less alone in the process.

I am a lifelong learner and will probably always be one. I believe growth is possible for all of us, and I bring that mindset into every part of my work. My aim is to help people build the skills, understanding and support they need to create lasting change and move toward a better quality of life.

For support coordinators and families looking for someone who is warm, experienced, grounded and highly relational, I bring a broad skill set, a calm presence, and a genuine commitment to helping children, young people and families thrive.
