Georgina knew she wanted to support young people and adults from observations of their challenges in life, and her own (turned around) lived experience. This led her to originally choose a career in clinical settings, but she realised working in education could also provide access to working with young people and she began a career as a high school teacher. Her many years in education have seen her teaching across a range of contexts, from metro to rural regions. Georgina has lived and worked with a diverse cross-section of young people and communities. Her observations over these years, have led her to identify that the differences made to a person’s life are clearly as a result of the quality of connection. Her strengths lie in caring and helping others come to understand they matter through supporting them to see their qualities and capabilities.
Her career of interacting with hundreds of young people and their parents, along with her own experiences as a parent, have led her back to working in a clinical setting. She continues to study, and is currently completing a Masters in Guidance and Counselling. Georgina has a natural warmth and nurturing quality underpinning her work; combined with the Body Life Skills program, she is committed to help others know they can make significant shifts for themselves when you combine new skills and have the backing and support of those around you.
