About

I have been working as a Psychologist for more than 26 years, and in many ways, I feel like this work found me long before I formally stepped into it. Even as a little girl I deeply cared about others and always did what I could to support them. Helping people has always felt deeply natural to me, and becoming a psychologist was, in many ways, the most honest expression of who I already was.

I now work with FABIC as both a Psychologist and a Behaviour Support Practitioner, and it feels deeply aligned to be part of a team whose philosophy resonates so strongly with the way I have always seen people. What I value most is that FABIC looks beyond behaviour and sees the person underneath it, because that is how I work too.

Across my career, I have supported both children and adults through a wide range of emotional, behavioural and relational challenges. I have worked with stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, diagnosed mental health conditions, behavioural concerns, and broader life challenges. Within FABIC, I support both children and adults, and I bring a calm, thoughtful and deeply human approach to understanding what is really going on beneath the surface.

One of the strongest themes in my work is parent support. I have seen time and time again that when parents feel overwhelmed, unsure, or disempowered in the face of challenging behaviour, the whole family can become stuck. A big part of my role is helping parents feel more confident, more supported, and more able to respond with both love and clarity. I believe boundaries, consistency and firmness can be deeply caring, and that when parents are empowered, real change becomes much more possible.

At the heart of my practice is curiosity. I do not see people as bad, broken, or difficult. I see behaviour as communication, and I believe there is always a reason underneath it. My instinct is never to judge the person. It is to ask why. Why is this happening? What is this behaviour trying to express? What has this person been through? I have found that when people begin to understand the “why” behind behaviour, something shifts. Families become more compassionate. Relationships begin to heal. People become less ashamed, more self-aware, and more capable of moving forward.

I am particularly passionate about helping children, adults and families separate behaviour from identity. A person is never just their worst moment, their diagnosis, or the behaviour others are reacting to. When we can hold someone accountable while still seeing the goodness underneath, we create the conditions for genuine change. I have seen powerful transformation happen when children who were once labelled as “too hard” or “problematic” are instead understood, supported properly, and guided with both compassion and clear boundaries.

My approach is also shaped by a strong focus on strengths. I believe support should not only focus on what requires change, but also on what is strong. I care about helping people reconnect with their potential, understand themselves more clearly, and move toward a more vital and joy-full way of life. For some, that means working through significant behavioural or emotional challenges. For others, it means learning how to respond differently, build stronger relationships, and feel more settled within themselves.

I also bring a grounded and realistic view of progress. I believe every genuine step forward matters. Sometimes the work is about helping a family move through a crisis. Sometimes it is about helping a child learn how to express rather than act out. Sometimes it is about helping someone take the first step toward a healthier, more supported life. All of that matters.
