Course: Understanding  & Developing Social Skills

All people have an anxiety scale from 1 (calm) to 5 (meltdown).  Increasing anxiety  is a result of a person facing events they perceive as challenging in their day-to-day environment .

Many people experience  challenges associated with understanding other people.

This can include finding it difficult to (1) Understand why other people do or say the things they do and (2) understand why other people are reacting in the way they do their own behaviours

  1. Have difficulties managing the stressors  in their day-to-day life
  2. Have similar behaviour traits to people who have Aspergers Syndrom

Participants will learn to understand the factors associated to why they are perceiving the world to be challenging, and means of adjusting their behaviours to be more accepted by the general society. Participants will receive an individualised workbook at the completion of this programme so that they have an ongoing resource for future reference

Course: Understanding your  Anger

Brief Description:

Many people, when faced with challenging situations, respond with anger. This can lead  to the person being reprimanded for using inappropriate behaviours.  Using anger related behaviours can have serious consequences  in all environments  the person is in - home, school, work, community.  Further consequences  can include: school suspensions; police involvement;  low self-esteem; social and relationship issues.

This programme has been designed to assist the individual using anger related  behaviours to:

  • Understand how anger works and affects them individually
  • Identify the external triggers to a person’s increasing anxiety
  • Identify their own internal communication that indicates they might be becoming angry (including: body signals, self statements  and current emotional affect)
  • Learn new skills (appropriate  behaviours) to respond to anger related triggers to replace old anger related behaviours
  • Start using new skills to more effectively communicate their message.
